Claims Tips

In the “train/job” field, only include train ID if you were on the time ticket; otherwise, use “none”.

Look at the index of the contract to see if you can find the article that supports your claim.

Include “who, what, when, and where” in the claim text.

You are hereby notified…

If you are told you have violated a rule, let the boss know if you don’t agree. Make sure to find out if he or she intends to record a “failure”.

If you are to receive a “failure” on the “operational test” screen, contact your local chairperson right away!

If you find a “failure” on the OSEF screen or get a charge letter, let your LC know to allow for adequate time to prepare your defense.
